Conduit Books: A New Independent Press Focusing on Male Writers

Conduit Books is launching a new independent press focused on elevating male voices in literature — from debut fiction to bold essays.

Conduit Books has launched as a new independent publishing house. This bold move has sparked conversation across the literary world. Their distinct mission is spotlighting male voices in contemporary literature. Founded in 2025 by a group of seasoned editors and literary agents, Conduit Books aims to offer a platform for male authors whose narratives explore vulnerability, masculinity, and identity in today’s complex world.

A New Direction in Publishing

At a time when diversity and inclusivity are leading themes in publishing, Conduit Books doesn’t position itself against these values. Instead, it seeks to expand the conversation by bringing forward authentic male experiences that may feel underrepresented or overshadowed in current literary discussions. The founders emphasize that their goal is to enrich the literary landscape, not limit it.

“Our aim is to create a space where complex male characters and nuanced storytelling can thrive,” said Conduit’s Editorial Director, James Thornton. “We’re looking for works that challenge stereotypes and broaden the definition of masculinity.”

What Conduit Books Will Publish

The press plans to publish fiction, nonfiction, poetry, and essay collections that center on male perspectives, but with a focus on diverse backgrounds — including men of color, LGBTQ+ voices, and global authors. Their first catalog is expected to be released by late 2025. It will feature debut novelists. Established authors looking for a new creative outlet will also be included.

Why It Matters

Conduit Books enters the scene during a period of major shifts in the publishing industry. Narrative inclusivity is celebrated. However, complex gender conversations are ongoing. By focusing on male writers while remaining committed to diversity and literary merit, Conduit hopes to carve out a thoughtful, vital niche.

Aspiring writers are encouraged to submit manuscripts starting September 2025, and the team promises a transparent, author-first process.
